A group of 30 volunteers were chosen within an age group of 19-48 years and the experiments were carried out on them. Six activities were performed by each person, namely Walking, Walking_Upstairs, Walking_Downstairs, Sitting, Standing, and Laying with the help of a smartphone fastened around the waist. Mainly three-axial linear acceleration and three-axial angular velocity at a constant rate of 50 Hz were captured using embedded accelerometer and gyroscope. To label the data, the experiments have been video-recorded. The dataset has been randomly split into two sets, where 70% of the volunteers were selected for generating the training data and 30% the test data.
