When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
About the Author
Bob LeVitus, often referred to as “Dr. Mac,” has written or co-written more than 88 popular computer books, with millions of copies sold worldwide. In addition to co-authoring thirteen edtions of iPhone For Dummies, he has written versions of OS X For Dummies and macOS For Dummies covering every cat- and California locale–named operating system Apple has released since System 7 (all for John Wiley & Sons, Inc., of course).
Bob has penned the popular Dr. Mac column for the Houston Chronicle since 1996 and the Dr. Mac’s Rants & Raves column for The Mac Observer for almost as long. He has also written thousands of articles, reviews, and columns for dozens of newspapers and magazines over his 30+ year career.
Bob is known for his Apple expertise, trademark humorous style, and ability to translate techie jargon into usable and fun advice for regular folks. He has presented more than 100 workshops at Macworld Expos in the United States and abroad, given Macworld Expo keynote addresses in three countries, and offered his own Macintosh training seminars in many U.S. cities. (He also won the Macworld Expo MacJeopardy World Championship three times in a row before retiring.)
From 1986 to 1989 Bob served as editor-in-chief of the first desktop-published Mac magazine, The MACazine. From 1989 to 1997, he was a contributing editor and columnist for MacUser magazine, writing the Help Folder, Beating the System, Personal Best, and Game Room columns at various times.
