5G Network Slicing
This chapter will focus on the purpose and architecture of 5G network slicing. Traditional methods of mobile network management cannot unleash the full potential of 5G. Network slicing helps to make an infrastructure intelligent and reduces the dependence on applications for efficiency and latency. Network slicing allows the connectivity to be fine-tuned to end-customer devices and use cases, both for enterprise and retail customers. Overall, network slicing is a key differentiator between 5G and prior generations of mobile technologies.
