This chapter introduces Maya's nParticle dynamics and shows how you can use them creatively to produce a wide variety of visual effects. The example scenes demonstrate the fundamentals of working with and rendering particles. The subsequent chapters on Maya dynamics build on these techniques.

Nucleus is a unified dynamic system first introduced in Maya 8.5 as part of nCloth. The Nucleus solver is the brain behind the nDynamic systems in Maya.
