Facilitating Executive Teams

Fundamentally, facilitating executive teams is no different than any other facilitation. The key to remember is that executives are just people too. However, inevitably, the facilitator may feel added pressure, especially if he or she is not a member of the executive team themselves.

Moreover, there may be an increased sense of competitiveness and drive within certain factions of the team – whether individual or as a collective – to push their side of the agenda. The facilitator must have sensitivity to recognise how difficult it may be for people who have seen themselves as “enemies” to come into the same room and discuss an issue.
