It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In this chapter we have covered the basics of LDAP directories in general, and of the OpenLDAP server in particular. We have covered the history of LDAP, the important terminology, and some of the high-level technical aspects of OpenLDAP. Now we are ready to start applying this knowledge.
In the next chapter we will turn our attention toward the process of installing and configuring OpenLDAP.
