So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In this chapter, we have looked at configuring other tools to interoperate with OpenLDAP. We began with the Apache web server, using LDAP as a source of authentication and authorization. Next we installed phpLDAPadmin, a web-based program for managing directory servers. We looked at the main features and did some custom tuning.
Of course, this is only scratching the surface of the applications that are LDAP-enabled. The information presented in this chapter should get you going on implementing any LDAP-enabled application, since they all require the same basic configuration information: host, port, bind information, and search filters.
