When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Simple and extensible
Ansible is written in Python and uses YAML for playbook language, both of which are considered relatively easy to learn. Remember Cisco IOS syntax? That is a domain-specific language that is only applicable when you are managing Cisco IOS devices or other similarly structured equipment; it is not a general purpose language beyond its limited scope. Luckily, unlike some other automation tools, there is no extra domain-specific language or DSL to learn for Ansible because YAML and Python are both widely used as general purpose languages.
As you can see from the previous example, even if you have not seen YAML before, it is easy to accurately guess what the playbook is trying to do. Ansible also uses Jinja2 as a template ...
