Acceptance tests are black-box tests, and are generally scenario-based. They may incorporate multiple user screens or user interactions in order to pass. These tests are also generally carried out by the testing team, as they may require logging in to the application, searching for a particular set of data, updating the data, and so on. With some planning, and a wealth of tools already available, we can also automate these acceptance tests, so that they are run as part of an automated test suite. The more acceptance tests a project has, the more robust it will be.
