Since I wrote the first edition of this book, much has changed in the world of Maya particle effects. With the introduction of the Nucleus dynamic engine in Maya 2009, creating particle effects has become more intuitive. You don’t need to create as many complex expressions in order to control particles, but at the same time there are many more settings that you need to be aware of.
