Azure virtual networks
Overview
In traditional, on-premises datacenters, virtual networks (vNETs) help connect devices, virtual machines, and datacenters to make services accessible in different locations and across geographic boundaries. A vNET emulates a physical network in that it is a combination of hardware and software resources working together to provide networking capabilities for virtual infrastructure resources. In Azure, a vNET provides the base layer for a private network to host Azure resources, such as Azure virtual machines (VMs), Azure virtual machine scale sets (VMSS), virtual private network (VPN) gateways, firewalls, and so on, to securely connect and communicate with each other and other resources hosted on on-premises ...
