It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In 2006, the British mathematician and data scientist Clive Humbly famously said that “Data is the new oil.” Just as with oil, however, simply having data isn’t of much use. The real power of data is in making sense of it through a process called data analytics. This is why Peter Sondergaard, the senior vice-president of the technology research firm Gartner, Inc., said “Information is the oil of the 21st century, and analytics is the combustion engine.”
In the brief time since Humbly and Sondergaard came up with their famous quotes about the power of data, we’ve had an explosion in the power of artificial intelligence that has made data even more useful and powerful. Just to push the metaphor perhaps way further than it should fly: if analytics is the combustion engine, then AI in combination with data and analytics is a rocket ship. And now, you have a copilot to help you guide that rocket ship.
