Chapter 8. Working with Customers

When working with Customers, you’ll become very familiar with two Entities: Accounts and Contacts. Both can contain records that Microsoft Dynamics considers Customers. In fact, when associating records to Customers (as on the Contact form where it says Parent Customer), you select either an Account or a Contact value. As such, consider Customers in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to be equal to either of these Entities.

It is sometimes helpful to rename Accounts to Companies, and Contacts to Customers—something that can easily be done by editing its display name under Settings and Customization. Refer to Chapter 19, “Customizing Entities.”
