One of the most attractive aspects of Microsoft Azure SQL Database is that it shares virtually the same codebase and exposes the same tabular data stream (TDS) as on-premises Microsoft SQL Server. Thus, to a great extent, the same tools and applications that work with SQL Server work just the same and just as well with SQL Database.
