Opening a Notebook

You can open more than one notebook. The names of open notebooks appear on the Navigation bar.

To open a notebook, start by clicking File and choosing Open to display the Open Notebook window. In this window, OneNote keeps a record of the previous 16 notebooks you opened. How you open a notebook depends on whether it is listed in the Open Notebook window:

  • If the notebook is listed, double-click its name.

  • If the notebook isn’t listed, click the Open Notebook button. In the Open Notebook dialog box, select the folder where the notebook is kept, and click Open to open this folder. Then select the Open Notebook file and click Open.
