Chapter 26. Exporting and Importing Project Data

You might occasionally have the need to exchange project data with other applications or file formats. For instance, you might have a resource list in an Excel spreadsheet you want to import into the Resource Sheet of Microsoft Project to build your project team. Or, you might need to send a simple project task list to others, but you cannot use an .mpp file because the people who need the file do not have Microsoft Project. In another case, you might need to export particular project data such as actual resource hours or costs, so that other systems can use the data for reporting purposes.
