Preface
This report describes approaches for maximizing data collaboration across the organization without building integrations between individual applications, systems, and other sources of data. We’ve written it primarily for chief information officers, chief technology officers, chief data officers, and other information technology leaders, although it also offers relevant perspectives for data managers, engineers, architects, and anyone else whose job involves working with data within a business setting. As you’ll learn, data collaboration architectures that don’t depend on extensive integrations are not a new idea, but they have assumed great urgency as organizations increasingly struggle to manage the ever-growing numbers of data sources that exist inside their information technology estates—and as challenges related to collaboration, data stewardship, productivity management, and beyond make it more important than ever to be able to share data seamlessly and efficiently across the organization.
