Much of what has been discussed thus far in the book was concentrated on the theoretical aspects of photography: the need for planning, the importance of knowing how your camera works, being able to read a scene with a photographic mind, and how to apply camera controls in order to compose and record a scene as you visualize it.

The next and most important habit to adopt is putting all the theory to work where it matters most—out in the field.
