Many artists who draw with light use the generic term light painting to describe what they do. This chapter uses the term light painting, which may include both painting with light and drawing with light techniques. It can be confusing, but it doesn’t really matter what you call it. This chapter introduces various techniques where a light source is used to create subject matter rather than illuminate a subject.
