Time-to-Event Analysis
Frequently investigators are interested in modeling the distribution of the time that
elapses before a certain event occurs. Generally speaking, the modeling of the dis-
tribution is called the time-to-event analysis but because of the wide range of appli-
cations, this analysis may bear other names depending on the field. For instance, in
a clinical trial the event may be a medical complication in a patient or even death,
and the analysis is called the survival analysis. In industrial processes, a machinery
