I personally use a diverse range of paint brands for oil painting. For beginners, Winsor & Newton (Winton) and Gamblin (Gamblin 1980) are excellent choices. They offer entry-level paints that are both affordable and surprisingly good quality. I still regularly use Winton paints for toning canvases and for plein air painting. I highly recommend picking one brand and starting with small 37mL tubes to build a limited primary palette—we'll talk more about why that's so beneficial in the "Working with a Limited Palette" section.
