Paint not adhering to the painting? If you're trying to apply paint and finding it just won't transfer from your brush to your painting, it's likely because you're trying to paint over paint that's too thick and wet. Try these solutions:
Add a medium: A touch of linseed oil can make the new paint more fluid and help it to adhere.
Remove excess: Use a palette knife or a stiff bristle brush to gently scrape off some of the excess wet paint from the surface.
Let it "set up": Sometimes, the best solution is to simply walk away. Allow your painting to sit and "set up" for a day or two before attempting to add more paint.
Change brushes: A softer-haired brush might be able to gently lay paint on top where ...
