Optoelectronics is the fast-growing branch of electronics concerned with the practical application of modern optical (opto) devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), optosensors, fibre optic cables, and lasers, etc. The first (1988) edition of this book presented a host of practical optoelectronics circuits but ignored fibre optic cables and lasers; the present fully revised and greatly expanded second edition of the book remedies this deficiency by devoting two large chapters to these and associated subjects.
