It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
CHAPTER 5Keys and Indexing
This chapter discusses the use of keys and indexes in PeopleSoft, and how they translate into indexes and implicit constraints in Oracle (there is an almost total absence of explicit constraints in a PeopleSoft database). In the previous chapter, we looked at how the two data dictionaries are related. Here, we will look at how PeopleSoft uses the "keys"1 defined in its data dictionary to generate SQL in the application and to create the indexes in the database to support that SQL.
