How to do it...

For this recipe, we will need atleast three PostgreSQL servers. As usual, we'll assume they are named pgha1, pgha2, and pgha3. In addition, assume that the IP address of pgha1 is 10.0.30.1. Follow these steps on all three servers except where indicated:

1. Create a file named haproxy.cfg in the /etc/haproxy directory with the following content:
