5. User Management and Permissions

In order to be able to define the rights of persons on the server, everyone who has access to the server gets their own username; on top of that, each user is a member of one or more groups. All files, directories, and applications on the system belong to one user and one group. The system administrator can use this system to define which individual users and which user groups have access (or not) to which directories, files, and applications.
