About the Author
Richard Tervo is a retired professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and assistant dean of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. From an academic career spanning 37 years, his research and teaching interests include instrumentation and measurement, digital systems, communications, and signal processing. Dr. Tervo holds a BSc and MSc in physics from McMaster University and a PhD in electrical engineering from Université Laval. He is a registered professional engineer (PEng) in the province of New Brunswick.
Dr. Tervo is a member of the Canadian Association of Physicists and the American Society for Engineering Education and is a Life Senior Member of the IEEE. As a licensed commercial pilot, an avid hobbyist, and an active amateur radio operator, he brings a unique hands-on approach to the study of applied science and signals theory.
