I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

11.1 Introduction
Although the principles of transaction processing change very slowly, the technology that implements those principles changes all the time. Some of these changes involve repackaging well-known mechanisms to fit into new software architectures. For example, over the years we have seen transactional RPC appear in TP monitors, client-server database systems, object request brokers, application servers, and web services. Other changes are driven by cost reductions in hardware and communications that put additional applications within reach.
