Introduction

Back in 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII introduced his Gregorian calendar as an update to the previously used Julian calendar, he didn’t have business intelligence reporting in mind. The quirky calendar still included
  • Months with an uneven number of days – 28, 29, 30, and 31

  • A weekday pattern of 7 days that did not align with calendar years or months

  • Leap years
