I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This book came about because of a series of conversations between myself and David Petersen in the fall of 2012. David and I had previously co-authored Pro SharePoint Designer 2010 (Apress, 2011) together for Apress. With the release of SharePoint 2013, we were considering an update to that book. In November 2012, we agreed to discuss it while we were both attending the SharePoint Conference 2012 in Las Vegas. By the time we managed to get together, we had both realized that SPD 2013 was not what we wanted to write about. The new Cloud App Model in SharePoint was way too interesting!
