I wanted to learn C and C++, but it didn't click for me until I picked up an O'Reilly book. When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.

In 1988, Dick Wolf, a Hollywood screenwriter, developed a concept for a television series about the American criminal justice system. Each episode, based on real events, would employ a two-part structure: Part 1 would follow two New York detectives investigating violent crimes; Part 2 would portray the prosecution of the criminals. Unsuccessfully marketed to Fox and CBS, a single season of the show was purchased by NBC. On September 13, 1990, “Prescription for Death,” Season 1, Episode 1 of Law and Order was broadcast.
