Improving Flow

Flow is such an overloaded term. If we exclude all of the mathematical, scientific, media, software product, software language, and music references and just focus on complex product development, there are still multiple usages of the term. Some use the term “flow” as shorthand for workflow. I mentioned in the previous chapter that there can be flow at the individual (or pair or mob) level, which manifests as people being creative, productive and “in the zone”—even losing track of time while they work. The term ”flow,” as I will focus on in this chapter, describes how work flows through the team’s process.
