In the early 1990s, the Philippines were hit by a major energy crisis. The Quezon Power Project was undertaken in an attempt to find a solution to this critical macroeconomic problem. By means of this initiative, in fact, the Philippine government would improve national energy planning by diversifying the mix of sources utilized to generate electric power in the country.
