It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
To run the recipe in our example dataset, download and prepare the dataset as indicated in the Technical requirements section. Alternatively, you can try the recipe on any dataset you like. Make sure that you have already imputed missing data with any of the recipes from Chapter 2, Imputing Missing Data.
The parameters to use in the categorical encoding should be learned from the train set and then used to encode the test set. Therefore, in all our recipes, we will first divide the dataset into train and test sets.
