Acknowledgments

Several colleagues of ours have helped us during this project. However, three were absolutely key to the creation of this book:

Patrick Ames led this project in all its non-technical aspects, allowing Miguel and Peter to focus on writing.

Aviva Garrett played the key role of the editorial review of the entire book, and also guided Miguel and Peter in how to improve the book’s organization and contents.

Steven Wong (Juniper JTAC), provided technical reviews for much of the book while sharing his immense knowledge of QOS.

The authors would also like to gratefully thank the following people at Juniper Networks: Kannan Kothandaraman (QOS Product Line Manager) for his contributions to and involvement in this project; Bobby Vandalore (Engineering) for reviewing selected chapters and for all the white board sessions; Margarida Correia (Professional Services Architect) for the valuable technical discussions on various chapters of this book; and Guy Davies (Professional Services Consultant) and Bill Nowak (Engineering) for providing precious advice during the proposal and initial phase of this project.

We’d also like to recognize Jos Bazelmans (Professional Services Manager) for encouraging this project from day one. Thank you too, Juniper Networks, and our managers, for allowing us to engage in this book writing project.
