It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Foreword
The present volume is based on the conference on “Rationalization in Religions” convened jointly by the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin on December 16–18, 2013. The conference was the first in a series of workshops on religion and modernity arranged on the basis of the collaboration agreement concluded in 2000 between the two academies. We are grateful to the Fritz Thyssen Foundation in Cologne for its part in funding the conference; to Mark Bergermann for organizing the conference in Berlin; and to the leadership and staff of our respective academies for their support.
