Chapter Six. Advanced Image Editing
In the previous chapter, you learned how to use Capture NX’s tone and color correction controls to make adjustments to your entire image. But there will be many times when you’ll want to make adjustments to just one part of an image. Sometimes, only the foreground in an image needs to be brightened, or the foreground needs to be brightened and the background needs to be darkened. If you’re coming from a wet darkroom background, you can think of localized editing as a supercharged form of dodging and burning. But where dodging and burning let you change localized exposure, Capture NX lets you make localized changes to any type of adjustment.
