I  write this book, completely inspired by and in awe of the women  in my life who have made me who I am. I see this book as a passing of the torch to creative thinkers including my incredible wife, Kathleen, who brings her own revolution to every cause she engages; my two conquering daughters, Madison and Emma; their significant others, Becky and Lucille; every woman I have worked for and with (including those great women who helped write this book), and most inspirationally, my mom. These women and many others showed me the struggles, the traps, the rollercoasters, the violence, the bias, the lack of equity, the exhaustion that comes with being an American woman today. It is time for the face of change to be one showing the strength developed through struggle, not the unfounded confidence that comes from entitlement. Thank you for opening my eyes and for stepping up when the world needs you most.
