Measured Loudspeaker Responses
The purpose of this appendix is to emphasise the degree of differences that exist between the responses of different loudspeakers, even if many are being advertised by their manufacturers as professional music-monitoring loudspeakers, and all ostensibly with relatively flat responses. The pressure amplitude responses, the harmonic distortion and the step-function responses are presented for 38 such loudspeakers, together with the waterfall plots. All of the measurements were made in the large anechoic chamber shown in Figure 4.2, and all were made with the loudspeakers and microphone in the same positions.
