I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

I thank Joan Murray for the skill and tact she employed in seeing this book through from a proposed table of contents to a bound volume (or, if your preferences in media run that way, an electronic gadget). Bill Pate provided a careful technical edit, not a straightforward task when the platform gets as idiosyncratic as Excel does from time to time. Paula Lowell’s copy edit unmixed my metaphors, got my subjects to reach agreement with my verbs, and gently pointed out those occasions when I accidentally duplicated figure captions. Seth Kerney, Mandie Frank and Mark Renfrow kept the whole thing from careening out of control, and I’m the sole owner of any errors remaining in this book.
