During those two decades the Ruby core team has steadily evolved the language and stabilized standard libraries, the Ruby community has developed a whole ecosystem of advanced tools, and Rubygems has pretty much become a source of solutions for all of a Ruby developer’s needs. But one nagging little concern has always remained: performance.
