When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Casting
Casting numbers is sometimes a dangerous operation. We could lose precision, lose sign, truncate numbers, and so on. Clippy gives us some very useful lints that can avoid these situations. Of course, often you do not care about these behaviors since you might know they won't happen or they could be intended behavior.
Nevertheless, I have found these lints useful even if you only activate them on one occasion to check the places where these casts take place and set them to allow by default when usual testing.
The lints are the following:
- cast_possible_truncation
- cast_possible_wrap
- cast_precision_loss
- cast_sign_loss
