Brazil’s Penal Code has two articles dealing specifically with the production

of child pornography but no laws dealing with possession. Article 240 of the

Brazilian Statute of the Child and the Adolescent states that an offender can

receive one to four years’ imprisonment and a fine for producing or directing a

theater performance, television show, or movie with scenes of explicit sex or
