It’s no fun watching paint dry!
University class schedules can be prescriptive. Blocks of time for classes fit a master schedule. Our scene painting course is scheduled for two hours, twice a week. It was difficult presenting and demonstrating a painting project in two hours. I demonstrated on a smaller flat in the middle of the circle of students. The students were expected to take notes, and they did, but the class met in the scene shop, where desks and writing space were at a premium. Progress stopped while paint dried. I’m sure there are multiple solutions to these problems. A book containing painting projects and step-by-step instructions would be the answer to my problems.
