11	Managing Security Alerts and Updates

COMPUTER SECURITY IS A CONSTANT BATTLE. From the moment a security alert is released, there is a race between attackers who look for vulnerable systems and administrators who install updates to address the vulnerability. This is tempered by the risks associated with some updates because developers cannot test updates against every possible hardware and software configuration. You may need to make your own judgment on whether to install an update based on the associated bug report.
