2.1 Introduction

2.1.1 Internet of Things

Kevin Ashton, also known as the inventor of IoT, first coined the term “Internet of things” in 1999. He used the term to describe a system where anyone can get connected to the virtual world through the Internet [5].

The term Internet of things, generally referred as IoT, is a concept where computing potential is provided to objects, sensors, and everyday items not normally considered computers, allowing these devices to bring about, exchange, and consume data with minimal human intervention [5].

In today’s world, we can see rapid changes in actual usages and utilities of things. There are many examples which can be put forward to show the cause of this alteration.

Advances in wearable electronics have the potential to affect a wide range of health applications. For example, diagnosis and follow-up for many health problems, such as motion disorders, depend currently on the behavior observed in a clinical environment. Specialists analyze gait and motor functions of patients in a clinic and prescribe a therapy accordingly. ...
