Abstract:

This chapter discusses the system-level design of a roaming multi-modal multi-sensor system and puts the associated general problems into a real-life context, based on the case study of Versatile On-board Traffic-Embedded Roaming Sensors (VOTERS) – a sensing system to monitor the structural health of roads and bridge decks.
