So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Telegraf
Telegraf is a plugin-driven agent for collecting, processing, aggregating, reporting, and writing matrix. It has more than 100 plugins. It is written in Go and compiled as a standalone library; it doesn't have external dependency. The plugin development is easy. You can write your own plugins. This plugin-driven architecture can easily fit into your application workflow to push or pull metrics. This architecture design makes Telegraf easy to use and flexible.
Telegraf can be used to collect and send metrics time-series data from various resources:
- Databases such as MySQL and MongoDB connect to these data sources and pull data
- System level matrixes such as disk usage, logs, CPU, and system events
