It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The subnetwork mask for the first network is 255.255.255.0. In our lab
environment, we have chosen to implement IPAT via IP replacement, where
the service IP address replaces the boot IP address. Since IPAT via IP
replacement was chosen, Enable IP Address Takeover via IP Aliases
should be set to NO. Figure 9-8 on page 265 shows adding ethernet network
to the HACMP cluster.
