It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A technological shift as radical and ambitious as SDN does not happen without the contribution of many players. This chapter takes a step back from the technology of SDN and reviews the individuals, institutions, and enterprises that have had the greatest influence on SDN since its inception. Beyond the luminaries behind the early concepts of SDN there are many organizations that continue to influence the direction in which SDN is headed and its rate of growth.
